Lesson Three Assignments

May 25, 2014

Under lesson three, there were three assignments that I had to do. These assignments consisted of being: Assignment 3-Keywords for Literature Search, Assignment 4-Reference Page, and Assignment 5-Looney Tunes-APA.

For Assignment 3 I had to explain in a little under or over 150 words what "keywords" were and how I would use "keywords" to guide an effective literature search in a word document.

For Assignment 4 I was to create a Reference page for 8 sources relating to one of the topics given. I created a reference page using the topic “Student athletes”. I used the databases and search engines from the Shorter University Library. My references were from refereed journals and texts. A link is given below to where I accessed my information.

For Assignment 5- Looney Tunes- APA I was given the following paper “Looney Tunes Microsoft Office 2007”:

On the Insert tab, the galleries include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your document. You can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, lists, cover pages, and other document building blocks (Fudd, Jan 09). When you create pictures, charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current document look. You can easily change the formatting of selected text in the document text by choosing a look for the selected text from the Quick Styles gallery on the Home tab. Buggs stated “you can also format text directly by using the other controls on the Home tab.” (2009, Pages 14-15)

Most controls offer a choice of using the look from the current theme or using a format that you specify directly. To change the overall look of your document, choose new Theme elements on the Page Layout tab. To change the looks available in the Quick Style gallery, use the Change Current Quick Style Set command (Fudd and Buggs; 2009). Both the Themes gallery and the Quick Styles gallery provide reset commands so that you can always restore the look of your document to the original contained in your current template. On the Insert tab, the galleries include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your document.

However, Coyote, W.E., (2009) found that you can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, lists, cover pages, and other document building blocks. When you create pictures, charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current document look. You can easily change the formatting of selected text in the document text by choosing a look for the selected text from the Quick Styles gallery on the Home tab. You can also format text directly by using the other controls on the Home tab. Most controls offer a choice of using the look from the current theme or using a format that you specify directly.

According to my instructions on moodle, this paper has several APA structure and formatting errors. It was my job to correct all of the APA errors- from Cover Page to Reference List. After I corrected all of the errors in a word document, I was to post my solution to the link that was provided for me. When finding the errors in this paper, I used sourceful links given by the Professor on moodle. The links that I found most useful was the APA Tutorial link and the APA Guidelines link. These links allowed me to figure out what I had to change to the paper given to me to be correct.
